William E. Sleeper, CEO, President
William E. Sleeper, President, a BA graduate of Principia College in Elsah, Illinois and CEO and president of Sleeper, Sewell & Company since 1998, served as its senior vice president from 1980 to 1998. He is a risk management consultant through William E. Sleeper Company, a division of Sleeper, Sewell & Company, serving clients on a fee basis in risk management, including risk analysis, risk transfer, risk funding (including insurance), and risk control. He is a former instructor in Risk Financing and Control at El Centro College in Dallas and has earned many insurance designations, including:
- ARM, Associate in Risk Management
- AIM, Associate in Management
- AAI, Accredited Advisor in Insurance
- CPCU, Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter
- CLU, Chartered Life Underwriter
He is also active in many insurance and business organizations, including:

Tom L. Fox, Executive Vice President
Tom L. Fox, Executive Vice President, a BBA graduate of Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, began his insurance career with
Employers Casualty in 1960, leaving in 1966 to become an agent with the Glenn Justice Agency. He earned the highly respected
Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter designation in 1968 when he also joined Sleeper, Sewell & Company as an agent and Vice
President. In addition to his Local Recording Agent license he maintains a Life license. Tom is also one of the seven agency principals.
Tom is active in the Rotary Club of Fair Park where he has held several district office positions and is a past president, AHEPA a Greek
fraternity of which he has also been past president, and has served on the Church Parish Council of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox

Gregory D. Acker, Executive Vice President
Gregory D. Acker, Executive Vice President, a BSBA graduate of Mississippi State University, entered the insurance business in 1978 at
Employers Insurance of Texas. Greg began his career with Employers as an underwriter and gained skills in marketing complex
commercial accounts. His first promotion with Employers was to the position of Commercial Marketing Representative. Greg later
served Employers as District Sales Manager of both the Midland and Dallas District Offices.
In 1987, Greg joined Sleeper, Sewell & Company as an agent and was later promoted to the position of agency Executive Vice President and Vice
President of Marketing. He is also one of the seven agency principals.
Greg's experience is in the marketing and servicing of large commercial insurance clients. Greg offers the expertise associated with four
preeminent professional insurance designations: CPCU, ARM, CLU and ChFC. [back to top]
John A. Stoker, Chief Operating Officer
John A. Stoker, Chief Operating Officer, a graduate of the University of Arkansas, entered the insurance business in 1982 with Employers
Insurance of Texas. John began his career in the claims department where with his multi-lines claims license, he soon became a Field
Representative for much of West Texas. In 1985, John joined the sales force with Employers Insurance in Dallas, Texas. Three years later
he became an agent and was elected Vice President of Sleeper, Sewell & Company.
Since joining Sleeper, Sewell & Company, John has earned the Certified Insurance Counselor designation and has become one of the
seven agency principals. In addition to his Local Recording Agent license he has Life and Adjuster licenses. John's experience is in the
marketing and servicing of medium to large commercial clients. John offers claims expertise along with innovative risk management

Kevin Edwards, Executive Vice President
Kevin Edwards, Executive Vice President, began his career in insurance in 1989 with the McJunkin Insurance Agency, after attending the University of North Texas in Denton. In 1990 he joined Sleeper, Sewell & Company through the acquisition of the McJunkin Insurance Agency. In addition to his Local Recording Agent license Kevin has licenses in Life and Pre-Paid Legal. He has earned the industry designation of Certified Insurance Counselor and is one of the seven agency principals.
Kevin is active in the National Youth Sports Coaches Association and the United States Specialty Sports Association. [back to top]
Elizabeth A. Schaap, Executive Vice President
Elizabeth A. Schaap, Executive Vice President, began her insurance career in 1981 with an insurance agency located in Lubbock, Texas. She
then began working for a national insurer in 1983 where she devoted most of her efforts to assisting commercial clients in liability and
specialty lines of insurance.
From 1984 to 1994, Liz worked with two large, regional brokers where she was involved in management as well as the servicing of large
commercial accounts. In 1994, Liz became a partner in a small regional insurance agency where she was responsible for both management
and commercial account sales. She also received her CPCU designation during 1994.
Liz joined Sleeper, Sewell & Company in 1996 as an Account Executive. In 2000, Liz was elected Vice President and became one of the
seven partners. Liz also earned her CIC designation in 2000.
Liz specializes in providing services to financial institutions and non-profit organizations. [back to top]
Douglas R. Jones, Executive Vice President
Doug is a third generation insurance broker with more than 20 years of experience with risk management coverages and services. He graduated from Baylor University with a BBA and Risk Management and Insurance major. Doug joined Sleeper, Sewell & Company in 1997 after working for two large international brokers. He specializes in technology and telecommunication accounts, providing expert guidance on such highly targeted insurance products such as Directors & Officers and Errors & Omissions Liability.
Doug's professional designations include Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Associate in Risk Management (ARM). He is also a member of the Professional Liability Underwriters Society (PLUS).
Doug currently directs Sleeper, Sewell & Company's Technology and Directors & Officers Liability Divisions and was the driving force for Sleeper, Sewell to become an exclusive member of TechAssure, an international association of insurance brokers focused on serving the unique needs of technology companies. He also led Sleeper, Sewell to elite status with technology insurance carriers and is one of seven individuals on the advisory board for a large technology insurance carrier.

Michael J. Darnell, Executive Vice President
Michael James Darnell, Executive Vice President, is the newest Sleeper, Sewell & Company partner. He is a 1994 graduate of Baylor University where he received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a major in insurance. Michael has been associated with Sleeper, Sewell & Company since 1995. His field of specialization is developing and implementing employee benefit programs for organizations of all sizes. These programs include group medical, life, long term disability, short term disability, dental, vision, and retirement plans.
Michael's outside interests center around his family and spending time outdoors. He also enjoys working on classic cars. He is community-minded and is a member of the Park Cities Rotary Club. Michael also enjoys volunteering at the school where his wife teaches.
